About

I am a dad of four kids ranging from 2 years to 8 years old. As we read the Book of Mormon each day, I find myself simplifying the language of the Book of Mormon on the fly to help them understand.

I am also a programmer. I am very interested in the new capabilities of ChatGPT and other similar technologies. I am regulary looking for ways that AI can enrich my personal study of the Gopsel of Jesus Christ and bless the lives of others.

This website is an expirement in using AI to simplify the language of the Book of Mormon from the original 10th grade reading level to 2nd grade, 4th grade, and 7th grade reading levels.

It is not in any way made, provided, approved nor endorsed by Intellectual Reserve, Inc. or The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Any content or opinions expressed, implied, or included in this website are solely those of its creator and are not those of Intellectual Reserve, Inc. or The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. To avoid any copyright issues, the source text came from the 1830 edition of the Book of Mormon, which is now in the public domain as found on the Project Gutenberg website. The chapter headings, which are copyrighted, were also not included.

AI wrote the text. And it may be wrong.

But it may also be helpful.

It might help children, new converts, individuals with reading disabilities, or others who may struggle to understand the original text of the Book of Mormon. The original text and the simplified text are deliberately placed side-by-side so the reader can compare and understand the original language in context.

I love the Book of Mormon. It has been a constant in my life, giving me purpose, direction, and comfort. I know it comes from God. I hope this resource opens new doors of understanding for seekers of truth.
